1592Adam Schall, S.J. is born. Cologne.
1873In Rome the Italian Parliament passed a law declaring religious orders non-existent in Italy, and ownership of all their properties passed to the state.
1881Teilhard de Chardin, S.J. is born.
1965Pope Paul VI entrusts the task of combating atheism to the Society of Jesus.
1987Edith Stein and Rupert Mayer, S.J. are beatified by John Paul II.
