1836 | Ampere, Andre-Marie dies in Marseille. He was a Jesuit Alumnus in the time of the suppression. He was born Jan. 20, 1775 in Lyon. A physicist, he founded and named the science of electrodynamics as Electromagnetism. |
1933 | Charles Simons, of the California Province, is the first Jesuit ordained in China. |
