1572The Mexican Province is established.
1871A female law student, P.W. Couzins, graduates from St. Louis University Law School, the first law school in the country to admit women.
1876Cardinal Franzelin was raised to the purple. 1888. Martin Darcy, S.J. is born.
1927Leonce de Grandmaison,S.J. dies Apologist, defender against Modernism. Editor of Etudes, 1908-27. He wrote a well-known life of Christ.
1956The first television presentation of the Sacred Heart program appears on KTVI in St. Louis.
1994James Dempske dies. President of Canisius College, he had been novice director and played the trumpet.
