1752 | Month uncertain. Madame de Pompadour, the mistress of Louis XV asked. Father de Sacy to admit her to the sacraments. On his refusing unless certain conditions were met, she became the Society’s deadly enemy, and one of the most ardent promoters of its destruction in France. |
