1697 | The Milanese missionary Juan MarÃa Salvatierra arrived in California, carrying an image of the Virgin of Loreto. |
1930 | Leopold Fonck, S.J. dies Austria. He wrote on Scripture and the life of Christ, and was the first director of the Biblical Institute in Rome. |
