1565S. Andrea in Quirinale, Rome, is opened by St. Francis Borgia as the first separate novitiate, separate from Colleges and Professed Houses.
1565Under the leadership of Father General Francis Borgia, Sant’Andrea in Quirinale in Rome opened as the first novitiate separate from a colleges or professed house.
1990The First Congregation of Provincials meets at Loyola, Spain, 83 provincials, on the occasion of the 450th anniversary of the approval of the Society, and 500th anniversary of the birth of St. Ignatius.
