At Paris the death of Fr. Vincent Huby, a great apostle and promoter of the devotion to the Sacred Heart. He founded the Confraternity of the Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

Bishop Al Jolson dies at the age of 65. From the New England Province, and of Icelandic heritage, he was appointed bishop of Reykjavik, Iceland.
