| 1540 | In Rome Peter Ribadeneira, aged fourteen, began his noviceship, after making the Spiritual Exercises. |
| 1663 | The death of Fr. Francis Maria Grimaldi. He was a noted astronomer who did research on the refraction of light. Isaac Newton made use of his work. |
