1541The First Companions gather to write the Constitutions of the Society in conformity with the Bull of Approval, "Regimini Militantis Ecclesiae," of Paul III.
1848In Rome, Pope Pius IX, having intimated his wish that the Society should leave. the city because of the Revolution, Rev. Fr. General Roothaan and the Assistants prepared to depart.
1913The Imperial Ministry of Education in Japan gives permission to open Sophia University.
