At Toledo Fr. John Manuel, Rector of the Professed House was called to his eternal reward. When there were three loaves in the house he ordered one to be given to a beggar. Presently a young man, unknown to the community, brought a plentiful supply of provisions.

At Rome the death of Urban VIII, most friendly to the Society. 1883. Amidst the revolution in Portugal an attack is made on the Jesuit Fathers.

The consecration of the chapel of La Storta. It was rebuilt by the Society after being destroyed by bombs on May 18, 1944.
