1634Fr. Marcello Mastrilli, miraculously cured through prayers to Xavier the previous day, offered a public Mass of thanksgiving - the remote origin of the "Novena of Grace."
1829Publication of Pope Leo XII's Rescript, declaring the Society to be canonically restored in England.
1928Antonio Astrain, S.J. dies Jesuit historian and biographer of St. Ignatius dies at Loyola, Spain.
1952Henry Davis, S.J. dies He taught moral theology for 40 years, and wrote the 4 vol. Moral and Pastoral Theology.
