1871The Chicago Fire. The city is destroyed, but it misses the Jesuit parish as it turns north thanks to the prayers of Fr. Arnold Damen.
1955Solemn dedication and opening of Shrub Oak, New York Maryland Province philosophate with Cardinal Spellman.
1969The death of Louis Twomey, an advocate of interracial justice and labor relations in the United States.
1983The death of Jeanne Marie Mortier, secretary and assistant to Teilhard de Chardin, to whom he entrusted his manuscripts.
